Schemas

A CLOD Schema is a document that describes a CLOD Set, typically expressed in terms of constraints on the structure and content of that CLOD Set, above and beyond the basic syntactical constraints imposed by the CLOD definition itself. These constraints are generally expressed using some combination of grammatical rules governing the order of elements, Boolean predicates that the content must satisfy, data types governing the content of elements and attributes, and more specialized rules such as uniqueness and referential integrity constraints. If a Schema file is identified, then a CLOD document will be considered invalid by all validity checking and parsing tools if the data in the CLOD document does not conform to all the requirements and specifications of that Schema file.

Formal

A Formal CLOD schema is a CLOD document itself that describes a CLOD Set.

Informal

An Informal CLOD schema is human language textual documentation that describes a CLOD Set.
